Seven harbour projects assigned to MTCC

Ministry of Planning and Infrastructure has contracted the design and development of three harbours, and upgrading four harbours to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

The project agreements were signed and exchanged at a ceremony held at the Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure on Tuesday. Director General Fathimath Shaana Farooq signed the agreements on behalf of the Ministry whereas CEO Shahid Hussein Moosa signed on behalf of MTCC.

Upgrading the harbours of Sh. Bilehfahi, Sh. Lhaimagu, R. Rasmaadhoo and F. Dharanboodhoo were assigned to MTCC in addition to the construction of harbours in ADh. Mandhoo, Dh. Hulhudheli and N. Landhoo.

Upgrading Bilehfahi harbour was given to MTCC for MVR 31.6 million to be completed within 365 days. Lhaimagu harbour upgrading was awarded for MVR 56.3 million to be completed within 480 days, while the upgrading of Rasmaadhoo harbour was contracted for MVR 19 million to be completed within a year. Upgrading Dharanboodhoo harbour, contracted for MVR 38.3 million is to be completed within 397 days.

The construction of Hulhudheli harbour was awarded for MVR 39.2 million to be completed within 362 days. ADh Mandhoo harbour, contracted for MVR 37.4 million is to be completed within 330 days while the construction of Landhoo harbour, awarded for MVR 355.6 million is to be completed within 420 days.
