Harbour construction in two islands contracted to MTCC

The construction of harbors in two islands has been contracted to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

The project agreements were signed between the Planning Ministry and MTCC in a ceremony held at the ministry on Thursday. The first project consists of expanding Ga. Dhaandhoo's harbor, under which 81,404-cubic meters will be dredged, and a 333-meter breakwater, 370-meter revetment, and 30-meter groyne will be constructed. The project, valued at MVR 71 million, must be completed within 185 days.

The second agreement consists of the reconstruction of B. Kamadhoo harbor. The value of the project is MVR 47 million, and the project must be completed within 400 days. The project's scope includes dredging an area of 25,636 cubic meters, construction of a 180-m breakwater, 628-meter revetment, and 346-meter groyne.
