The Health Protection Agency (HPA)'s monitoring mechanisms have been activated in Sh. Milandhoo and L. Mundoo after COVID-19 cases were identified on both islands.
Several cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Mundoo over the past week. Samples collected from the island on Thursday also tested positive. HPA said the island will remain on monitoring until the contact tracing process is complete, and entry and exit will be restricted until then.
Four COVID-19 cases were also identified from Sh. Milandhoo, all of whom presented themselves to the island's flu clinic due to flu-like symptoms. Milandhoo will also remain closed until contact tracing is completed.
In addition to Mundoo and Milandhoo, 14 other islands remain under HPA monitoring.
