India has appointed a new High Commissioner to the Maldives.
According to India's External Affairs Ministry, the new High Commissioner is senior diplomat, Munu Mahawir. He is currently serving as Indian ambassador to Oman.
The ministry said Mahawir is expected to take up the assignment shortly. No further details were shared.
The current Indian High Comimissioner to the Maldives, Saunjay Sudhir was appointed to the post on March 5, 2019.
