Expired identity cards and passports can be used for domestic travel, Aviation Security has announced.
Aviation Security, which is under the Ministry of Defense, in a circular issued on Tuesday said it has been receiving complaints that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused difficulties in obtaining documents that can be used as identification. Therefore, as a solution to the issue, expired identification and travel documents can be used for domestic travel purposes, the circular said.
In this regard, passports, ID cards, work visa cards, license cards, airport security pass, or any official document with photo and ID number on it can be used for domestic travel, said Aviation Security. The documents will be accepted to purchase airline tickets, airline check-in and security checkpoints. However, all information must be distinct on the documents.
