The Maldives Technical Advisory Group has decided that a booster shot of the COVID-19 vaccine will be given to high risk individuals and frontline health workers.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that the Technical Advisory Group has advised for a third dose of the vaccine to be given to those at higher risk of developing serious illness if they contract COVID-19. This includes frontline health workers, those above the age of 60 and immunocompromised individuals. HPA said they will be given an extra dose of the Pfizer vaccine if six months have passed since they received the second dose of any COVID-19 vaccine.
