HPA calls on public to get booster shots before Ramadan

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has called on the public to get their COVID-19 booster shots before Ramadan.

Ramadan this year will begin on April 2.

HPA said those eligible to receive the booster shot are advised to get their shots before Ramadan. The agency announced the timings during which the shot will be administered in Ramadan. According to HPA, the booster vaccine will be given from Dharumavantha Hospital and Hulhumale' Hospital between 9 pm and 11 pm in Ramadan.

Statistics released by HPA show 398,348 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine thus far, while 371,439 people have received the second dose. Over 143,000 people have received the booster shot.
