New Indian amb receives Letter of Credence

The newly appointed Indian Ambassador to the Maldives, Munu Mahawar has received his Letter of Credence.

Munu was presented with the Letter of Credence by India's President, Ram Nath Kovind, at a special ceremony held at the presidential palace, Rashtrapati Bhavan, on Friday.

India's External Affairs Ministry first announced Munu's appointment as Ambassador on September 15. Ambassador Munu, who studied in the electrical engineering field, changed career and joined the foreign service sector in 1996. He has served as the Indian Ambassador in many countries, including Oman, where he was the Ambassador from August 2018 until his new appointment.

Sunjay Sudhir used to be the Indian Ambassador to the Maldives, and he has now been appointed as the Indian Ambassador to UAE.

While Munu has been officially appointed as the Indian Ambassador to the Maldives, the Indian High Commission in the Maldives did not state when the Ambassador would arrive in the Maldives to begin his assignment.
