Maldives' largest water fountain opened in Central Park

The Maldives' largest fountain was opened in reclaimed suburbs Hulhumale' on Friday.

The interactive water fountain was established at the Hulhumale Central Park, developed by the Housing Development Corporation (HDC). It was officially inaugurated by Fisheries Minister Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan, and HDC's Managing Director Suhail Ahmed at a special ceremony held Friday night.

Speaking at the event, Suhail said HDC would further develop the recreation zone and the mosque area of the park and further expand the urban farming area. He said that HDC would work to best utilize the open, green spaces for beneficial purposes.

The interactive fountain was developed over an area of 20,000 square meters by the Turkish company ALKAR Insaat. The fountains are programmed with sound and light features. The water rises to a maximum of 15 meters.
