Three people who were arrested for possession of alcohol have been released.
The three men, aged 28, 34, and 51, were arrested in a police operation aboard a safari moored near Maafushi island on December 9. The police said 88 bottles of alcohol were found on the vessel. However, the three men have now been released by Maafushi Magistrate Court.
The same day, three men were arrested for drug possession from three homes in Maafushi. The island's magistrate court remanded the 21, 22, and 29-year-olds in custody for ten days.
The police are investigating the two cases.
