The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has brought amendments to COVID-19 measures under which work permit holders from South Asian countries are required to undergo quarantine at a state-designated facility upon arrival in the Maldives.
HPA said the requirement which came into effect on June 29 had been discontinued. Instead, unvaccinated work permit holders traveling from South Asian countries must quarantine at a location arranged by their local agent, HPA said. They will be released from quarantine after a PCR test comes back negative upon completion of their 14-day quarantine, HPA said. They said the quarantine location must be informed to HPA atleast one day ahead.
