EPA fines Maafushivaru developers

The developers of ADh. Maafushivaru Maldives Resort has been fined by the Environment Protection Agency (EPA).

The resort's developer, Paradise Resort Development and Management Private Limited, was fined by MVR 402,500 for working in a way that harms the environment under the permit granted to them.

The company was asked to pay the fine within 30 days. AVAS has learned the fine has been paid.

Maafushifaru Resort reopened to tourists in July last year when the Maldives opened its borders to tourists. The resort has 81 villas and guest rooms of five categories.
