COVID-19: Maldives' tally crosses 99,000

The Maldives' COVID-19 numbers have risen above 99,000.

From 5,818 samples tested on Tuesday, the Maldives recorded 593 positive cases, increasing the country's tally to 99,099. Out of these, 199 cases were recorded in the capital, Male' - the highest number recorded in the city over the past few months. An additional 197 cases were recorded from the atolls and 124 from operational resorts.

The number of active cases at this time is 4,320, with 20 people admitted to hospitals. The death toll is 264.
