Maldives records 967 new cases, tally almost at 100,500

The Maldives on Friday recorded 967 positive cases of COVID-19.

According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), out of the 7,505 samples tested, 475 cases were identified in the Greater Male' Region while 290 cases were from the atolls. An additional 87 cases were registered in operational resorts. This increases the Maldives' current tally to 100,418.

The positivity rate in the capital is currently at 11 percent. The country's death toll is at 265, with the most recent death recorded on Friday.
