Former President of the Maldives and opposition leader Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom will be traveling to R. Dhuvaafaru on Friday.
The Spokesperson for the Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM), Heena Waleed, said the former President would travel to Dhuvaafaru under the 'India Out' campaign.
Since he was released from jail after the Supreme Court acquitted him of money laundering, he has taken the lead of a campaign calling for the Indian military personnel stationed in the Maldives to leave the country. When he recently called on the public to write 'India Out' on the exterior walls of their private buildings, the people of Dhuvaafaru were once of the first to respond and act accordingly.
President Yameen's India Out movement has been gaining momentum, and he has traveled to several islands to expand the campaign. While he has traveled to islands in Male' atoll, he has also traveled to some Sh.atoll and F. atoll islands.
