US gov't donates COVID-19 vaccines to the Maldives

The government of the United States has donated 210,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to the Maldives.

An official from the Health Protection Agency (HPA) said the US donated 210,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine and the syringes needed to administer them through the COVAX facility.

The US government previously donated 229,320 doses of the Pfizer vaccine to the Maldives.

The most recent statistics by HPA show 369,655 people have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 66,367 people have received the booster shot.
