Three vaccine storage centers to be established

Health Minister Ahmed Naseem has said three vaccine storage centers will be established in the Maldives.

The health Minister was summoned to the Parliament and questioned regarding delays in commencing the construction of a tertiary hospital in GDh. Thinadhoo. After answering inquiries, the minister provided an update on ongoing health sector projects.

The minister said three vaccine storage centers would be established across the Maldives with the assistance of the World Bank.

COVID-19 vaccines require cold storage, while general vaccines also have to be stored at a specific temperature.

The minister also new hospitals would be constructed under efforts to enhance the health sector. He said that the new projects would be announced for bidding very soon.
