The construction of the roads surrounding the Hiyaa flats in Hulhumale' Phase II has been completed.
The roads were completed by the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) on Thursday and opened for service on Friday morning.
The roads were completed while the public has been expressing concern about delays in building the roads. HDC initially targeted to complete the roads by the end of November last year. On February 21 this year, HDC had said the roads would be completed within 15 days.
HDC is currently working on establishing essential services in the Hiyaa area before the end of the month.
HDC contracted the road-building project to a joint venture between two Indian companies. HDC previously said the delays in completing the roads were due to the safety measures taken against the COVID-19 pandemic.
