PCR testing no longer required for tourists departing from guesthouse islands

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has said tourists staying at guest house islands are no longer required to undergo a PCR test before they depart from the island.

HPA revised part of its guidelines on Friday, some of which gives ease to tourists arriving in the Maldives.

According to HPA, arrivals who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with WHO-approved emergency vaccines and those accepted by the Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) will not have to undergo PCR testing prior to their arrival in the Maldives. Additionally, those departing from guest house islands will not need to undergo an additional test before their departure.
