Pres Solih concludes unofficial visit to Singapore

President Ibrahim Mohamed Soli returned to the Maldives on Sunday night after concluding an unofficial visit to Singapore.

The President departed for Singapore on February 23. He underwent thyroid surgery two days later, on February 25, leaving Vice President Faisal Naseem in charge for the duration of the surgery. The President temporarily transferred power to Vice President Faisal at 6 am on Friday and resumed his duties of office at 9.30 am.

After spending a few days in the hospital, the President was discharged from the hospital on March 1. Providing an update on his health, the PResident on that day said he was doing well.
