Chief of Staff at the President's Office, Ali Zahir's Twitter account has been hacked.
Tweets are being been published from Ali Zahir's Twitter handle since early morning. The President's Office has confirmed that his account was hacked and said that the case had been filed with Maldives Police Service.
The initial tweet published from Ali Zahir's account was written about former President of the Maldives Mohamed Nasheed and the main-ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)'s activists who support him. Vulgar language was used in the tweets. Similar language was used in the subsequent two tweets that followed.
