President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Sunday departed on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The President is traveling to the UAE to convey his condolences and sympathies to the family of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the late President of the UAE, Emir of Abu Dhabi, and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, who passed away on on Friday afternoon.
The President would conclude his visit on Monday and return to the Maldives.
The Maldives is observing a three-day mourning for Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan with the national flag flown at half-mast from May 14-16, 2022.
