India Out: Suspect arrested for vandalizing ministers' cars

A suspect has been arrested for spraying the 'India Out' slogan on the cars of some cabinet ministers.

Three cars parked at the government building, Velaanaage Parking Area, were vandalized. Although a suspect was arrested last night, the police have not officially confirmed the arrest.

The police said Education Minister Dr. Aishath Ali, Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail, and Fisheries Minister Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan's cars were vandalized. Another vehicle parked in the parking lot in front of the Parliament building was also damaged.

A person who sprayed the India Out slogan on some Male' buildings and streets and the wall of Defense Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi's home was arrested earlier this month.

The India Out campaign is a movement led by the opposition coalition calling for the withdrawal of Indian military personnel in the Maldives. President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has issued a decree directing state agencies to stop the India Out movement, deeming it a threat to national security.
