Former Finance Minister Inaz appointed as MPAO Chairman

Former Minister Dr. Ahmed Inaz has been appointed as the Chairman of Maldives Pension Administration Office (MPAO).

MPAO has confirmed Inaz's appointment to the office. On Monday, the office's official Twitter account posted a tweet welcoming the new chairman.

Inaz replaces Athifa Ali, who previously held the post. Her three-year term expired as MPAO's Chairman ended on Sunday.

Inaz was the Finance Minister in President Nasheed's government.

The Board of the Pension Office has a total of eight members.

Two people have been appointed to the MPAO board this year. On February 13, Abdul Majeed Ali, Managing Partner of Optimo LLP, and Mohammed Ghali Murtala, Managing Director of Morteza Capital, were appointed to the Board as members representing the private sector.

The office's CEO, John Grindal of the UK, was dismissed on October 12, 2021. MPAO's Board fired him over a disciplinary issue. The case is pending in the tribunal.
