Land allocated from Hulhumale to Audit Office

Land has been allocated from Hulhumale for the construction of the new building of the Auditor General's Office.

The Audit Offices' Director of Corporate Services Nashwa Firag signed the agreement on behalf of the Audit Office at a ceremony held at the HDC head office on Tuesday. Deputy Managing Director Ahmed Athif signed on behalf of HDC.

The Audit Office was allocated a plot of ​​1742643 sqft. A six-story building will be constructed on 13,106 sqft of land.

An official of the Audit Office told AVAS earlier that the office is ready to start work on the office building construction within this year. The new building will solve the space constraints faced by the audit office, he said.

According to the drawings of the new audit office building, the office will cost about MVR 160 million. The new Auditor General's building will house a canteen for rent and a daycare center for employees.
