The Criminal Court has ordered to remand Ali Shahil, Finifenmaage, F. Nilandhoo in custody pending outcome of trial.
Shahil, 23, was arrested in the early hours of Sunday for the brutal murder of Shiaau Mohamed Saeed, Gn. Fuvahmulah. Shiaau's body was found in Shahil's Henveiru apartment in Sheereen Villa. Some reports say she was decapitated, with arms and limbs cut off when found, although no official authorities have confirmed the reports.
Shahil was produced before the Criminal Court to decide on his remand on Sunday. In the court session, which was conducted behind closed doors on police request, the judge ordered for Shahil to be remanded in custody until the end of the trial.
Shahil is a national-level skater. He won the 2017 International Skating Competition in India.
