MACL employee injured in unloading accident

An employee of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has been injured in an incident where a container fell while unloading cargo from a flight.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning while cargo was being unloaded from an Emirates flight that arrived at Velana International Airport (VIA) from Dubai.

A MACL spokesperson said one person was injured in the incident, but his condition was not serious.

"The employee is being treated at the IGMH. We have not been informed that his condition is life-threatening," the official said.

The official added that the cause of the incident would be investigated, and the necessary action will be taken.
