The national bank, the Bank of Maldives (BML), has entered into an MoU with Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) to establish a dedicated Oncology Ward at the hospital. This support is as part of the series of 12 high-impact monthly community initiatives to celebrate the Bank's 40th anniversary in November.
The Bank will provide MVR 3.5 million in financing for this project. The MoU was signed by Aishath Noordeen, In-charge and Acting MD of BML, and Ibrahim Saleem, CEO of IGMH, at a small ceremony held at the Bank earlier on Monday.
Aishath Noordeen said the Bank's anniversary initiatives have focused on a number of important sectors in the country and that the Bank was delighted to announce its support to fill a critical need in the health sector. She said that the project would see the establishment of a dedicated ward for cancer patients and that the bank hoped it would enhance access to safe and high-quality oncology services to those in need.
Speaking at the ceremony, IGMH's CEO, Ibrahim Saleem, thanked the Bank for their generous donation. He said the donation would enhance the
