Former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom is not one who is open to negotiation and discussion, Home Minister and leader of Adhaalath Party, Imran Abdulla, has said.
Imran's criticism of President Yameen comes while many have lambasted Imran for statements he used in praising President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih at the Third Viavathi Conference in L. Gan.
In a tweet published on Wednesday, Imran said President Solih's character allows him to negotiate and discuss matters, no matter how hard it is for some to accept the fact. He compared President Solih to President Yameen and said Yameen was not as approachable as President Solih.
"[That's] a fact known to everyone who knows them well," Imran said in his tweet.
Imran has previously criticized President Yameen on several occasions. The opposition has said Imran is only trying to defend his position and that he does not have the characteristic of loyalty to the country.
