Maldives signs air transport agreement with Kazakhstan

Maldives and Kazakhstan have signed an agreement on air transport.

The two countries signed such an agreement on the sidelines of the 41st General Assembly of ICAO in Montreal, Canada. The agreement was signed by Transport Minister Aishath Nahla on behalf of the Maldives government and her Kazakh counterpart on behalf of Kazakhstan.

The Transport Ministry said the agreement was signed to launch air transport services between the two countries and to strengthen cooperation in the field of air transport.

Kazakhstan began issuing 30-day on-arrival visas to Maldivians last month. Those traveling for longer than 30 days must obtain a visa in advance before departure.
