Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded the contract to lay asphalt on the main roads of local tourism island AA. Ukulhas.
MTCC' Chief Executive Officer Adam Azim and Planning Ministry's Director General Fathimath Shana Farooq signed the agreement at a ceremony held at the Planning Ministry on Wednesday.
MTCC has been given 450 days to complete the road construction project. The total cost of the project is MVR 59.5 million. Asphalt will be laid across 2.68 km of the road under the project. Installation of street lights and a storm drainage system are also included as part of the project.
