Large amount of drugs found buried in Hoadedhdhoo

The police Friday said a large amount of drugs were found buried in the woods of GDh.Hoadedhdhoo.

Although the police said they recovered a large amount of drugs during a special operation, the amount of drugs was not disclosed.

Police Intelligence, Drug Enforcement, and South Police conducted the operation in Hoadedhdhoo following a tip-off that drugs were being smuggled and traded in the Maldives. The police said more locations are being searched as part of the operation. However, the details of these places were not shared.

Three people were arrested in a drug operation conducted in Hoadedhdhoo on Tuesday, police said. One of the suspects died suddenly while in police custody. Police are preparing to conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death. However, the family refuses to consent to the autopsy.
