MNP schedules presidential primary for January 14

The Maldives National Party (MNP) has scheduled its presidential primary for January 14, 2023. The date was set at the first meeting of the MNP National Executive Council held Wednesday.

The MNP was registered and included in the Register of Political Parties on October 25, 2021. The party announced that it would contest the upcoming presidential election earlier this year. The party, which currently has a membership of 10,000 members, is working hard to increase party membership throughout the country.

Only one MNP member, the party's President, and Dhangethi MP Mohamed Nazim has thus far announced intent to run in the 2023 Presidential Election.
