Aiminath Shifleen has been named the best journalist of 2021.
Shifleen, who works for Dhauru, contested against Nazim Hassan of Adhahdhu News and Mohamed Yameen of Vaguthu Online. The best journalist was selected by public vote and judges' marks.
The Maldives Media Council (MMC) has also awarded the most promising journalist of the year. This year, the award went to Aalim Abdul Latif, who previously worked for Sun Online and currently works for Mihaaru News.
