SDFC temporarily suspends some loans for tax return work

The SME Development Finance Corporation (SDFC) has temporarily suspended issuing all but three loans issued by the corporation.

SDFC said in a statement that the loans were temporarily suspended for the 2022 tax return work. It further said the quality of services provided by SDFC would be improved in the future.

The loans currently being issued are the 'Dhanduveri Nafaa' loan to provide easily accessible financing options to parties involved in the agriculture sector and the 'Kandufalhuge Nafaa' loan to provide easily accessible financing options towards the facilitation of RSW systems in existing fishing vessels.

SDFC said it would consider the applications received for the loans and that loan documents can be submitted through the relevant portal.

The opportunity to apply for other SDFC loans will be reopened on January 31. However, there is a possibility that the date may change.
