The President's Office opened applications for the vacant post of a member at the Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC) on Thursday.
A seat on the commission became vacant following the resignation of the commission's Vice President, Ahmed Gais, earlier this week.
According to the President's Office, applications will be accepted at the office on January 22-23, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The person appointed as a member of Broadcom must be 18 years of age. He must not have been convicted of a crime or fraud within the past five years. In addition, he shall not be in an elected or appointed position under the Constitution or any law or in any other employment of the civil service or a government-owned company. He must not have a financial interest in communications and broadcasting.
Broadcom is a seven-member commission. The commission is chaired by Mariyam Waheeda. The current members of the commission are Amjad Waheed, Ali Yusuf, Aminath Ameena, Mohamed Fazeen, and Shifla Ibrahim.
