The main-ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has said 283 ballot boxes will be set up in the party's presidential primary.
According to the list of polling stations announced by the party on Monday, 87 polling stations will be set up in Male' City and 196 in the atolls. The polling stations will be set up in island schools in the atolls.
The MDP presidential primary will be held on January 28, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The MDP has announced the permanent list of voters eligible to vote in the primary. According to the permanent list, 57,255 people will be able to vote in the MDP presidential primary.
The party's presidential primary is being contested by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and MDP's President and Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed. The campaigns of both candidates are ongoing and in full swing.
