President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has proposed changes to the functions of two government ministries.
The letter sent by President Solih to Parliament was heard in Parliament on Tuesday. According to the letter, changes will be brought to the functions of the Planning Ministry and the Health Ministry.
The changes proposed for the Planning Ministry include some of the functions of the Department of National Registration. The changes to the Health Ministry stem from the creation of the National Mental Health Department as part of the Ministry of Health.
If changes are made to the functions of government ministries, they must be submitted to the Parliament for approval.
