Over 29,000 common cold cases reported in January

There were 29,307 cases of the common cold reported last month, according to the Health Protection Agency (HPA).

The number of common cold cases reported in January this year was higher than in January 2018, 2019, and 2022, according to HPA data. The HPA did not release statistics for 2020 and 2021 due to the low number of reported cases due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In January this year, 195 people were treated for dengue fever. The number of reported common cold and dengue fever cases in January this year has increased compared to the same period last year.

While 8,219 cases of viral fever were reported in January this year, 3,502 people were treated for diarrhea.
