MNDF creates Warrant Officer rank, promotes five officers

The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has created the rank of Chief Warrant Officer for the first time and promoted five officers to the rank.

A ceremony was held on Tuesday morning at MNDF Headquarters at Bandaarakoshi to hand over the letters of appointment. The documents were handed over to the officers by Defence Minister Maria Ahmed Didi, and their ranks were presented to them by the Chief of Defense Force, Major General Abdulla Shamaal.

At the ceremony, Minister Maria said this is the first time in the 130-year-old army history that the post of Chief Warrant Officer has been created, and the soldiers appointed to the rank will be remembered in history.
