HDC rebranded as "Urbanco"

The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has been rebranded as Urbanco.

HDC announced the rebranding at a ceremony held at Central Park in Hulhumale' on Saturday to mark the company's 22nd anniversary. With the change, the logo and name of the company's head office in Hulhumale' have now been changed to Urbanco.

The company said the change is aimed at providing more comprehensive services to the people while striving to achieve the title of the largest urban development company in the country. The company was rebranded to work as a partner in making the people's dreams come true, the corporation said.

The company's new mobile application, the Urbanco app, was also launched at the ceremony. The company's services will be easily accessible through the application.

A separate unit called HDC was first established in 2001 at the President's Office to solve the housing problem faced by the people of Male' City. The name of the place was changed to the Hulhumale' Development Corporation (HDC) and later changed to Housing Development Corporation. HDC also manages Thilafushi, Gulheefalhu, and Kudagiri.
