Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has been asked to vacate its main party center in Male City, the 'MDP Haruge'.
The MDP Haruge is located on Boduthakurufaanu Magu in front of Artificial Beach. The land on which the MDP party center is operated belongs to Shafiyya Zubair, a party activist.
MDP Sunday said the landowner last month asked the party to vacate the premises by Sunday.
An MDP official told AVAS that the agreement with the landowner has already expired. However, the owner had given some assurances that the property can be used could be used until the end of the presidential election.
"We are looking to get another place in Male'. However, we have not found one yet," he said
While MDP currently sees internal division like never before, with one faction supporting President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the other, Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed, the landowner, Shafiyya, is with President Nasheed in this conflict. She has been very critical of the government's policies.
