First Couple departs to UK to attend King Charles' coronation

The President and First Lady depart on an official visit to the UK.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed departed on Wednesday evening on an official visit to the United Kingdom.

The President and the First Lady will attend the coronation ceremony of Their Majesties, King Charles III, and Queen Camilla, scheduled to be held on May 6.

President Solih is also scheduled to attend a meeting of Commonwealth leaders during his visit to the UK.

Charles succeeded his mother, Elizabeth II, on September 8 last year. Queen Elizabeth's funeral was also attended by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
