First action of a PPM gov't would be to seize passports of 'thieves': Adhurey

The first action of a PPM-PNC government would be to seize the passports of “thieves”, PNC President Abdul Raheem Abdullah (Adhurey) has said.

Speaking at a rally held by the opposition on Saturday night, Adhurey emphasized that those who engaged in "theft" during the current administration would face the consequences under a PPM government and would be prevented from evading justice. He said the party is preparing to identify the corruption of this government and said the party would not tolerate corruption.

Adhurey said PPM's leader and former President Abdullah Yameen, who is currently incarcerated, will appear on the ballot in the upcoming September presidential election. He said the PPM and PNC are ready to take over the government and would assist in ensuring victory for Yameen in the election.

Referring to the PPM winning five out of eight seats in the Women's Development Committees by-election held Saturday, Adhurey regarded it as a valuable lesson for the current government.
