Eighty complaints received regarding voters' list

The Elections Commission has received 80 complaints regarding the permanent list of eligible voters for the upcoming presidential election.

The list was released on June 8th, and a 30-day period has been granted to submit any complaints regarding the list.

According to the commission, as of yesterday, 80 complaints regarding the list had been received. The majority of these complaints, accounting for 59 cases, highlight the inclusion of deceased individuals' names on the voter list. An additional 14 complaints pertain to address changes, three involve constituency modifications, and two focus on name changes. One complaint pertains to the omission of a name from the list, while another revolves around incorrect ID card information.

A total of 282,672 people are eligible to vote in this year's presidential election. Re-registration for the election is scheduled to open on July 16.

The first round of the presidential election is slated for September 9, 2023. In the event that a second round becomes necessary, voting is scheduled for September 30.
