The main opposition, PPM-PNC coalition, has officially kicked off the presidential campaign for their candidate, former President Abdulla Yameen, across all the atolls of the country.
The campaign was initially launched in Male' City on July 3, featuring a door-to-door approach, and subsequently extended to several other atolls.
PPM's Spokesperson, Heena Waleed, Monday told the media although the campaign initially focused on Haa Alif, Haa Dhaal, and Shaviyani atolls, it has now been officially launched in all atolls.
Despite Yameen's present ineligibility to participate in the September election due to a conviction for money laundering and bribery, the opposition remains optimistic that his name will be included on the ballots. However, his ability to contest the election is contingent upon a higher court overturning the decision made by the Criminal Court.
