New building dedicated to major police investigations opens in Male'

A police building dedicated to major police investigations has been opened at H. Fourwind in Male' City.

The Sergeant Adam Haleem Criminal Investigation Building, named after an officer who tragically lost his life in the line of duty while confronting a criminal in July 2012, was opened on Sunday by Home Minister Imran Abdulla and Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed. Senior executive officers of the Maldives Police Service as well as the family of late Sergeant Adam Haleem, were present at the ceremony.

The newly opened 10-story building is dedicated to the work of police investigation departments. The building includes interview rooms, a mess hall, a conference room, and a multipurpose hall.

The police Criminal Investigations Command, namely the Economic Crime Department, Serious and Organized Crime Department, and Drug Enforcement, have now been moved to the new building. In addition, the Interpol National Central Bureau and Henveiru Police will also be located in the building.
