Two Malaysian nationals, aged 41 and 44, have been arrested in connection with drug smuggling in the Maldives.
The Maldivian police have accused the duo of bringing illegal substances into the country and being involved in drug trafficking operations.
Upon being produced at the court, the pair have been remanded in custody for five days. The court's report also highlighted a request for one of the men to meet with a representative from the Malaysian Embassy in the Maldives during this period.
