A total of 285,219 ballot papers have been printed in preparation for the upcoming presidential election scheduled for Saturday, September 9.
The announcement regarding the number of printed ballot papers was made in accordance with the General Elections Act. According to the Elections Commission, the ballot papers were printed by Novelty Printers and Publishers Pvt.
A total of 282,395 people are eligible to vote in the presidential election, in which a record number of candidates are contesting. With eight candidates, this includes five political parties and three independent candidates.

Candidate No. 1 - Umar Naseer (Independent)
Candidate No. 2 - Hassan Zameel (Independent)
Candidate No. 3 - Ibrahim Mohamed Solih (MDP)
Candidate No. 4 - Dr. Mohamed Muizzu (PPM/PNC)
Candidate No. 5 - Qasim Ibrahim (JP)
Candidate No. 6 - Ahmed Faris Maumoon (Independent)
Candidate No. 7 - Ilyas Labeeb (The Democrats)
Candidate No. 8 - Mohamed Nazim (MNP)
A total of 574 ballot boxes will be set up for Saturday's presidential election. This includes 142 ballot boxes in Male' City.
