Voting underway in four out of five overseas locations for Maldives Presidential Election

As the Maldives' presidential election unfolds, polling has begun in four of the five foreign countries where ballot boxes have been placed.

The international voting stations are situated in Trivandrum, India; Colombo, Sri Lanka; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; London, United Kingdom; and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Voting has commenced in all locations except London, where the polling stations will open at 12:00 pm Maldives time, corresponding to 9:00 am local time. The voting hours in the other countries are as follows:

Trivandrum, India: 8:30 am local time
Colombo, Sri Lanka: 8:30 am local time
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: 11:00 am local time
London, England: 12:00 pm local time
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: 7:00 am local time

A total of 574 ballot boxes have been set up for the presidential election, including eight ballot boxes placed abroad.
